Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Energy signed a deal with Dutch-registered company Stone City Energy for a gas turbine power plant in Surkhandarya region. As a result, new project Company SCE-QUVVAT LLC came to an existence.
SCE-QUVVAT LLC, together with its international Sponsors: Nebras Power, Siemens Energy, Stone City Energy, and EDF, is developing a 1.6 GW gas power plant in Surkhandarya region, South-East of Uzbekistan. The construction of the plant has been contracted with Chinese company SEPCO3. After completion of the construction, scheduled for 2027, the plant shall be operated for 25 years through an electricity sales contract with the government of Uzbekistan. SCE-QUVVAT LLC is currently recruiting the staff to be in charge of managing the construction with subsequent operation of the plant.
SCE-QUVVAT LLC aims to increase the availability of energy-efficient baseload generation capacity in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
